ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
The activities director is responsible for the planning and conducting of various activities during a particular conference, for the equitable sharing of responsibilities and opportunities, and for the promoting of good sportsmanship and godliness in these activities.
Activities may be competitive or non-competitive, may be athletic or not, and may be tasks necessary to the functioning of the conference. The ultimate goal of all activities is the glory of God through the practice of Christian behavior and fellowship.
Pre-conference Duties
- Plan schedule of activities according to conference schedule proposed by the conference director.
- Request, no later than June 1, any equipment or supplies needed to execute planned activities and other sports during the conference.
- Plan additional activities, especially "rainy day" activities, which might be used when needed.
- Plan clan constituency, names, and scoring.
- Notify conference director of these plans at least two weeks prior to conference
Conference Time Duties
- Upon arrival, determine that all supplies needed are or will be available when needed.
- Coordinate and/or make clan assignments.
- Make clear the time and place of all activities.
- Insure that all necessary supplies are available and in place where needed.
- Insure that all activities begin and end at times appointed.
- Arrange for any necessary supervision of particular activities.
- Insure that all supplies and equipment are properly stored after activities and that appropriate action is taken to encourage the right use of the Sabbath.
- Report scores at those times determined by the conference director or dean.
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Encourage all present at the conference to participate in the activities.
